Agrivoltaic Farming

By incorporating an agrivoltaic farm onto the grounds, we can accomplish a multitude of our goals as pioneers in the sustainable energy and farming space.

Main Benefits

  • We will utilize our space to the fullest capacity. While panels collect sun, various types of produce can grow underneath. We can tackle the problem of creating more sustainable energy while providing healthy food for the community.

  • While Agrivolatic Farming has been developed in many countries, it’s still a relatively new technology in the United States. There have been ground-breaking sustainability programs at the University of Arizona and Jack’s Solar Garden in Colorado, that have studied the benefits of Agrivoltaics and best practices in their region. We aim to pioneer the technology in the Black Belt region, where the sun is plentiful, and farming is a major part of the economy.

  • By utilizing the power of the sun and storing the energy in the batteries, we’ll be able to have an incredible amount of clean energy that can be used to power the whole campus.
